Competition is not required at Chicago MMA — but it is encouraged. Stepping onto the mat in front of judges, referees, and a crowd is one of the fastest ways to identify gaps in your game and accelerate your development.
Our competition team trains together, travels together, and supports each other at every event. Whether you're entering your first local tournament or preparing for IBJJF Worlds, you'll have the full resources of the gym behind you — specialized drilling sessions, strategy coaching, and a team of training partners who push you to be your best.
Professor Misho Ceko has built a culture where competing is seen as a gift to your training, not a test of your worth. Wins and losses are both celebrated as learning opportunities.

Head Instructor & Program Director at Chicago MMA. Black belt under Carlos Gracie Jr., Misho has built one of the most decorated competition programs in the Midwest — producing champions at every level from local opens to IBJJF Worlds.

Submit your application to join the Chicago MMA Professional Fight Team. Our coaching staff reviews every application and will reach out within 5–7 business days.
